I haven't tried overdyeing with indigo (although have used indigo by itself) but I suspect it acts more like a direct dye and is just covering over the fuchsia and that the gray you are getting is tending toward a dull gray with a lavender tinge. Fuchsia is almost the most difficult of the MX dyes to work with as it hits the fabric so quickly and doesn't even play well with other MX dyes.Elizabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01510120813220199735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-916682346234515921.post-50108600545477674632017-08-14T16:07:11.680-04:002017-08-14T16:07:11.680-04:00Hi Beth, looks like a ton of fun dyeing with frien...Hi Beth, looks like a ton of fun dyeing with friends. I have been taking workshops recently I came across a problem. After dyeing cotton with procion MX dye and allowing it to dry/I tried to over dye it with Indigo dye from Maiwa. After two dips in a new vat, I was very surprised/disappointed to get a grey washed out blue. It was a fuchsia color prior to the indigo dip(s). Will more dips improve this dusty grey? or is that how fuchsia reacts? Thanks for you consideration of my question.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04688343903677996660noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-916682346234515921.post-2298704002112585902017-08-07T04:31:59.728-04:002017-08-07T04:31:59.728-04:00what an interesting post. thank you.
