Ft. Fisher Observations

I continue to see Red-throated Loons off the beach as well although they are usually out too far for a good picture.   I have only seen one Common Loon and it was among all the Gannets down off Ft. Fisher.  

There continues to be a good sized flock of Horned Grebes off the boat ramp at Ft. Fisher.

There was one lone Semi-palmated Plover down at Ft. Fisher one day at low tide.  I keep looking for the elusive Clapper Rail.  One of the birders got an excellent picture of him on New Year's Day.  Some day.....

We have had some nice sunsets this past week.

We have also had some "sun dogs" lately because of the chillier weather!
