Continued....

Had to include a picture of the youngest member of my extended family -- my granddaughter Amelia who lives across the country from me.  She will be three in March but is serious about her painting here.  The tshirt is one of the ones I dyed for her last year.  I can't believe how big she is getting -- thank goodness for Gmail video chats as I got to see her going through many stages although she is a bit shy now.

I couldn't resist taking a picture of the Coots today as they were in so close and in the sun as well!

There were two Red Headed Ducks and one Lesser Scaup also hanging out with the Coots.  My Wood Duck hasn't appeared for some time and the Horned Grebe hasn't been back either although I still see the Pied Billed Grebes and the other usual suspects each day.

Progress continues on the second of the Serendipity quilts.  I have now made the blue bordered blocks the outside blocks instead of the inside blocks.  I will vary the colors a bit on the inside blocks.

These are the blocks that are used in the background to join all the star blocks.  This was great fabric to really showcase the radial symmetry.

You can begin to see the quilt coming together.  I have finished all the outside blocks and two of the four inside blocks and about half of the "interlocking"  hexagon blocks.  I am testing out a navy blue for the background to the hexgons along the edge of the quilt and am thinking a pale yellow for the background on the inside hexagons which then give the illusion of larger star blocks in the middle and makes it more of a medallion style set.  At least I haven't run out of fabrics so can successfully do the border once I figure out what it needs to be  I would like the quilt to be a little larger I think as it is only about 50 inches wide now and just how many single bed quilts do I need!

I have resisted Thousands of Bolts.com for awhile but they had a yearend sale and I just couldn't resist getting some of this great fabric which I love!!  Just had to share it.  Don't know what I will do with it -- maybe a backing on something but I loved it -- this is about a fat quarter size picture.

I really enjoy your bird pictures-we don't have these sorts here in North Texas, and always the quilt projects, too!
